Not in Hindi ever again! Promise...

After my first (and last) disastrous attempt at writing in Hindi, I solemnly swear on my blog never to repeat the mistake! It’s amazing how many laughs (not counting swears) I received over it. To those who laughed, fuck you bitches... and to those who swore, ditto! I get it people, I won’t bother again. In order to make it up to my mates (who felt tortured just reading it), here’s something me and my cousin were working on yesterday. Unfortunately, this one is heavier on music than lyrics. I’m hopeless with notes, else would’ve provided that for the music readers. However, I can help with the fact that the music is very 80’s style, heavier on the keyboard than guitar. This one is to all my friends. I won’t name them (if I forget anyone, I’ll be in shit trouble). And please consider this a big THANK YOU to all those lovely people who always paid my tab for I’m forever broke! I know it isn’t much; we are still working on it. Should there be any "better" de...

Zindagi ke pal, Rakesh ke sang...

The below song/whatever-you-want-to-call-it is a dedication to my fiancĂ©, Rakesh. On his request I’ve made an attempt at writing in Hindi! Not that I don’t know Hindi, it’s just been so long since I wrote anything in my national language that the flow of writing is broken! However, I hope whoever reads this has only basic knowledge of the language; else they’ll probably find too many errors. Goes like this… Kuch tanha se baethe the hum Yunhi soche kab aayenge voh Mudke dekha jab yunhi humne Samne humare khade the voh Zindagi ke yeh pal bade yaad aate hain Zindagi ke kuch pal muskura jate hain Ruthne manane se fursat kaha Ki chan baatein bhi hum karle Aapko apne kaam se fursat kaha Ki hum dil bhi thoda bharle Zindagi ke yeh pal bade yaad aate hain Zindagi ke kuch pal muskura jate hain Shopping to hum harooz karte Lekin paise deta kaun? Shikayat bhi hum harooz karte Lekin humari sunta kaun? Zindagi ke yeh pal bade yaad aate hain ...

Everywhere I go...

The below song is a dedication to my brother Amrish. We wrote this song in complete haste only because he was in one of his music composing moods! Its based on a personal experience when traveled to B’ham, N. Ireland, Cyprus, Delhi and Mumbai. Its just a song that was written randomly, but from the heart. Hope you’ll like it as much as much we enjoyed making it  J   Everywhere I’ve been I’ve heard the same sound, The sound of people and the sound of cars The cries of children, mingled with laughter The bursts of horn, the obscenity Yet everywhere I go I’m different to them, Is this what they call hell today? Everywhere I’ve been I’ve heard the same sound, The sound of people and the sound of dogs The neighbor’s dog barking, all night disturbing The construction guy going on and on Yet everywhere I go I’m different to them Is this what they call hell today? People with Afros, People with Gold The Oil-rich mofos, And the people with Om ...

Dream poem!

Something that I was singing in my sleep today… Hold me like I’ve forgotten, Hold me like the first time; Hold me like I remember, Hold me oh so tight! Hold me like I need it, Hold me like I want; Hold me like you mean it, Hold me all night long! Hold me like you missed me, Hold me like you love me; Hold me, squeeze me, kiss me… Love me all night long!

Public opinion!

While talking to my bro-in-law yesterday, we saw an advert of desperate housewives. Now, I’m not exactly a fan of TV watching, I prefer reading over TV. I expressed my wish to someday watch an episode of desperate housewives. Here’s how he describes it… There are 4 women… all desperate enough to sleep with the gardener, the cleaner, the neighbors husband and of course, the common neighbor himself! Should anything go wrong medically, they visit the doctor, only to land up on his bed. And coincidently, he would be the only doctor, and everyone would land up sleeping with him.  Having already been married to cheating husbands, the 4 women fight over their husbands, others husbands, the gardener, the cleaner and of course the common neighbor. As the seasons progress, they have kids, who go to schools with real good looking teacher, who again everyone has had a chance with. On the way home, should they get a parking or speeding ticket, then that lady will also h...

Parents Love!

There is parental love and there is the love parents share with each other. Funnily enough, even if they are arguing over trivial matters, it’s rather fun to watch. Well, hold on a minute… it’s not arguing like the Jaane Tu couple (Meghna’s parents), but a rather fun-loving, lovers-tiff kind of case. Today was just one of those days… mum cooks, dad runs off without lunch… mums chasing dad, screaming all the time ‘at least eat and go! I don’t spend this much time cooking just for myself’… you know the drill. It’s been like 25+ years of togetherness, and still they nag over issues like ‘did u eat?’ and ‘did u remember to fill-up the fuel?’ and ‘don’t you still know how old your daughter is?’ blah blah blah. (umm… yeah, my dad tends to forget that his youngest is 20, all the others are officially adults (though not for him yet :)) We get so accustomed to listening to this, that when they do not have a stupid argument, we tend to fear that something is wrong. I g...

So much for romance!

Snoring men! I fail to understand why men snore so loudly! I know certain women also snore, but why the competition in loudness? Imagine this… the guy comes and snuggles up to his girl. She has her back to him and he is holding her very snugly against his chest. His breath soft and rhythmic just at the nape of her neck, little kisses, bit of stroking, the whispering of good night and I love you, and 10 mins later… he is snoring loudly in your ear!!! I wonder if men realize this, and how many women share this sentiment with me.
